Well after 50 years of campaigning and waiting the approval for a bypass around Kingkerswell has been approved and anyone who has travelled down to Torquay will know how congested the road from Newton Abbott to Torquay gets, especially in the Summertime.

This long awaited route into Torquay will be constructed by the company Galiford Try who built the retractable roof over Wimbledon to enable continuous play and is due to commence Autumn 2012 with completion sometime in 2015.

Recently we had two environmentalists staying at the Buckingham Lodge whose job it was to erect fencing the whole length of the new bypass in order to identify, capture and safely release any frogs, newts, toads etc which would otherwise be disturbed during the construction.

Su[porters of the road feel this new construction will boost the areas economy, creating approximately 11,000 jobs, 1,000 of which will be in tourism.

One things for sure it will certainly be easier for visitors to come and stay at our lovely guest house and visit the sites and attractions of the English Riviera, Devon.

see you soon.
